Websites can be as simple as a focused landing page, or as layered as your business requires.
The sites that I work on tend to be effective and simple — usually 6 pages or less, with multi-level menus, added function through widgets (e.g. Google maps, an Instagram feed, subscription form to email marketing), a few action buttons (“Donate now”), and a Contact form.
My preferred website environment is site hosting with BlueHost and site design with WordPress, based on experience. But I am quick to learn other setups — I’ve assisted clients with Wix, Square, Weebly, SquareSpace, and the site builders on Go Daddy, Network Solutions, and BlueHost.
Working with me
I can create your site from scratch, work with you on a site under construction, assist with content, or take care of administering the back end of the site (the part that no one sees yet is critical to the site running smoothly). My approach is highly cooperative; even when I am doing most of the development and design work, the site is always your voice, it represents you and your brand.
If creating a website from scratch, my deliverables always include full documentation. I make sure that you know how to access both your site and your hosting account, with training as needed. Your name will be listed as the owner in all cases; I may be on record as the Admin but everything else is in your name. This is important, as some web builders will leave the owner out in the cold, and no one discovers it until the original designer can’t be located and the site is in trouble.
Let’s talk about cost
I provide deep value, but my fees are affordable. How? I charge between $45-65/hr for development work, substantially lower than the industry.* A medium complexity website, as described above, might be delivered for as little as $500, and almost always below $1000. I provide project bids after consulting with you, so you are never caught by surprise.

* Here’s a “dirty little secret” of web design: you can generally expect to pay a lot when hiring other providers. https://www.sayenkodesign.com/how-much-does-a-website-cost/
On this cost calculator, https://www.webfx.com/web-design/learn/website-design-cost-calculator/, I entered “1-5 pages” and responded “none” to all of the other requirements. The cost estimate that the calculator returned was between $3,000-5,000. I understand that the final cost could be very different, yet this tells you something about the prices that some clients are paying unnecessarily.
