Welcome!
I’m Laura Griffin, a versatile, seasoned software user and trainer located near the Berkshires. When I started out, the entire Microsoft Word program fit onto a single floppy disk, a B&W laser printer cost $3,500, and the available design tools were barely a step above an Etch-a-Sketch®.*
A great deal has changed since then, but one thing remains the same: the technology, whatever it is, exists to help you express yourself, tell your story, build your business, and generally to let you achieve the things that are most important to you.
Working with me
I specialize in providing solutions to small businesses and community organizations. As a small business owner, I understand that you can’t possibly have every skill needed to run the business — and even if you know how to do something, should you be the one to do it? Your time is valuable. It often makes sense to seek help from a professional who has been in your shoes, has the specific expertise, and understands your challenges. This approach allows you to focus on the parts of the business that you are strongest in.
- I may complete the project or task for you
- We may decide to collaborate, or
- I can provide training and documentation if you wish to complete the job on your own (with support a phone call away)
Together, we determine the right approach.
Experience matters
If you look over my menu of services, and browse my varied portfolio of design work, you’ll see a range of experience and tools that I can offer you. I hold a BS in Information Systems, which deals with bridging the gap between businesses and technologies, and creating a comprehensive network of information systems. I am conversational in French and Italian — you never know when that comes in handy.
My clients tell me that I am responsive, flexible, detailed, creative and smart. While business needs are always met, I have often formed close relationships with clients, making the experience a joy for all parties.
It’s true that I am devoted to business, but volunteering with the community is a core value of mine; for years, I have worked with local towns across the spectrum of events, politics, housing, aging at home, and farmers markets. I believe that getting involved, and working alongside your neighbors, is the key to making our world better. And maybe a cat or two.
Reach out to me with any questions — call 518-288-7080 or email me, and you’ll be one step closer to meeting your objectives.
